Shirazz features large crimson / burgundy fragrant flowers which are borne in early spring. The flowers start with a tulip shape, but eventually open out to a flattend shape, and turn to a paler lilac colour.
Shirazz grows with an upright spreading habit.
Shirazz was developed at the Duncan & Davies Nurseries in New Zealand and released in 2004. It is also known as Vulden - reflecting its parentage of Magnolia denudata x Magnolia 'Vulcan'.
