Apollo

Apollo is an impressive new magnolia, featuring large dark pink flowers, which are often scented.

The flowers open ahead of the leaves (which are also quite large), giving an attractive contrast with the bare branches.

Flowering may continue over the summer, the later flowers tend to be a lighter pink rather than dark purple.
