The Rising SunTM

£98.00
Cercis canadensis The Rising Sun leaves

Rising Sun is named for the unique yellow-orange colour of its young leaves, which turn to yellow and then lime green over the summer.

The lilac mauve flowers appear first, ahead of the leaves, and are borne on bare branches in mid-spring.

Rising Sun is one of the more vigorous tree-like Cercis varieties, and is tolerant of heat and drought once established.

It grows with an upright spreading habit, to around 3m or so after 5-10 years. On older trees the branches may become arching and slightly pendulous with the weight of the large leaves towards the end of the summer.
